framing
a shot, including and excluding elements as appropriate
|
The images that
have been used are quite good. They have positioned them well by putting them
on one side. The photos are also different, as they have positioned one photo
behind another. The extra photos that have been used are suitable as it shows
who the person is for that specific category.
|
|||
using
a variety of shot distances as appropriate
|
These are okay
because of the way they are medium shots and then some are medium long shots.
The main photo is positioned as a more medium shot, and then the one behind
this photo is positioned in a medium long shot, to make him appear smaller to
fit in the gap.
|
|||
shooting
material appropriate to the task set
|
The background
of the main image is white which will enable all images to fit together as
they won’t clash. The picture in the bottom left corner has a blue background
that matches, as it is a plain white black, with aspects of red and yellow
text that ties all colours together.
|
|||
selecting
mise-en-scène including colour, figure, lighting, objects and setting
|
The lighting is
good and seems interesting. The backgrounds of photos tie together really
well and do not clash as much. To improve it though, they could have a
different colour instead of the blue background so it doesn’t seem the odd
one out. On the double page spread it is obvious of what the genre is by the
prop that has been used which is a guitar.
|
|||
manipulating
photographs as appropriate to the context for presentation, including
cropping and resizing
|
The sizing of
the two main images is really good as how they have been laid out. The way
they have resized the images represents the skills they have. The top right
image is unusual with the way they have positioned the model and the way they
have angled it is interesting. The bottom left image is simple and it allows
us to follow the models eyes to the text next to him on the right. This is
due to the way he is positioned.
|
|||
accurately
using language and register
|
The language is
used in a much mature way by how the font is all the same which makes it
easier to understand. It is bold and large so it is noticed, stands out and
attracts their target audience.
|
|||
appropriately
integrating illustration and text
|
Due to the
fonts that have been used it makes the magazine simpler and easier to
understand. The difference in sizing of all the text makes the magazine look
sophisticated and mature that represents their target audience.
|
|||
showing
understanding of conventions of layout and page design
|
The layout of
the front cover and contents is very sophisticated and mature. However, the
double page spread seems unfinished with the blank background. I think the
title itself is very interesting by how it is laid out, but I think they
could of made the quote larger so that it would stand out more.
|
|||
showing
awareness of the need for variety in fonts and text size
|
The variety of
text sizes is really interesting and good. The masthead is very independent
with how it has been designed that is really effective for the magazine,
which will attract their target audience. The front cover is interesting with
the variety of sizing of the text that is very effective also. The content is
very good as well with the detailed synopsis of what the category is about.
The use of imagery is interesting as well and suitable. The text for the
double page spread is interesting with the masthead being laid out different.
The interview itself is easy to follow and understand.
|
|||
using
ICT appropriately for the task set
|
It is clear ICT
has been used for this task as Photoshop must have been used. The way they
haver laid out all of their images, fonts and texts and the way they have
edited photos are really thought out and done extremely well.

Very good use
of language, conveys a very smart tone that fits well with the style of the
magazine, there is little to no grammatical or spelling errors throughout the
magazine.
|

appropriately
integrating illustration and text
|
This has been
done well as the font size stays consistent for different levels of
importance of information making the text easy to read understand.
|
|||
showing
understanding of conventions of layout and page design
|
The layout and
presentation of the cover, contents and double page spread is excellent, it
grips the reader and gives an exciting impression of what the magazine will
contain.
|

showing
awareness of the need for variety in fonts and text size
|
It clearly
shows how more important information is bolder and in a larger font, also the
use of different font colours has been used to illustrate more important
sections.

there has been a professional use of photoshop whilst working on this

|

Clearly a lot
of thought has been put into page layout and the positioning of certain
things, for example, having the word ‘contents’ vertical down the side of the
page gives a good design effect.
|

Photos cropped
out and re-sized to take up and dominate a lot of the pages. This draws the

|
Very good
grammar and English used, the type of language used fits well with the theme
attempted to be conveyed.

The way the

picture in the double page spread centred without interrupting text layout.
